The aim of the study field of electronics is to educate and train electronics engineers who are able to solve a wide range of problems related to the electrical engineering industry. Their field of expertise extends to such fields as informatics, computer science, ecology, healthcare, mechanical engineering, robotics, etc.
The study includes a block including an indispensable theoretical introduction to the issue, which provides basic education for every electrical engineer, which is then followed by blocks of individual specializations. Specialized blocks emphasize electronic components, semiconductor structures, digital and analog circuits, microelectronics, custom circuit design, microcontrollers, signal processing circuits, sensors, electronic device design, integrated and coherent optics, radiation sources and detectors, optoelectronic applications and telecommunication systems.
The study of applied electronics and electronic systems aims to prepare engineers whose task in practice will be to solve problems related to the applications of integrated circuits and special electronic structures and systems, as well as the design of electronic devices. The student should be able to master digital signal processing methods and be able to implement the necessary algorithms for processing these signals into specialized processor systems.
Elective courses in higher years allow students to individually choose the direction of their further specialization with regard to applications in electronics, electronic systems, optoelectronics or semiconductor physics.

Topics of lectures, laboratory exercises and seminar exercises are chosen with regard to the best possible comprehensibility and allow students to practice the material in practice. The Department of Microelectronics gives students, especially those with excellent study results, the opportunity to exercise their desire for employment not only at home but also abroad. It allows graduates to continue their doctoral studies (Ph.D.). We believe that graduates of our field will easily find employment in the labor market.
