The Cadence Academic Network is a university/industry collaboration to support and improve Universities activities in the design of analog and digital semiconductors.

CTU FEE Curriculum:

Cadence Tools are used in following courses:

Integrated Systems Design
The course is taken by master students in Communication, Multimedia and Electronics program. This course delivers more advanced aspects of analog and digital CMOS integrated circuits design. Here the students are introduced to:  Main tasks of integrated circuits designer;  Definitions of specification, feasibility study, criteria for technology and design kits selection; Integrated systems design and simulation methodologies; Main features of full custom design;  Design aspects of RF and mobile low power systems; Verilog-A, Verilog-AMS, VHDL-A design models; Digital IC design – Logic and physical synthesis; Frond End and Back End design; Floorplanning, place and route, layout, parasitic extraction, time analysis, and verification.

Electronics and Microelectronics
Students take this course in Open informatics bachelor program. This is introductory course to Electronics and Microelectronics. Cadence is used in Labs for design and simulation of analog and digital circuits. instagram takipçi

Systems on Chip
Students take this course in Open informatics master program. Students are introduced to: Design principles of mix-signal integrated circuits; Hardware description languages –VHDL, Verilog, Verilog-AMS; Design tools and methodologies for digital integrated circuits and systems; Frond end design – functional specification, RTL, logic synthesis, Gate-level netlist; Back End design – specification of Design Kit, mapping of the design, Floorplanning, place and route, layout, parasitic extraction, layout versus schema check (LVS); Methods of physical synthesis, placement of functional blocks, power lines design and distribution, simulation of interconnect continuity, design verification; Clock signal distribution; Tape out and fabrication. Cadence is used in Labs for design and simulation of analog and digital circuits.

Integrated System Structures
The course is taken by master students in Communication, Multimedia and Electronics program. The course provides the students with knowledge about the technological aspects of analog and digital CMOS integrated circuits. In this course the students are introduced to:  Design methodologies of analog, digital and optoelectronics integrated systems; Description of integrated circuits fabrication process; CMOS technologies and its modern sub-micron trends; design rules and layout design; Design and fabrication process of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS); polymer based technologies; optical and optoelectronical integrated circuits. Cadence is used in Labs for design and simulation of analog and digital systems.

Research

We successfully used Cadence tools during our scientific research activities. We are focused mostly to analog low power design and analog synthesis.
